Selecting a Web Server

Now that your site is built, you need to decide where to put it.  The computer on which your web site is located is called the host, or web server.  Internet Marketing Associates has excellent web hosting facilities, and we think your best choice is to have us host your web site.  However you may chose to rent space on another commercial web server, or even to host the site on your own computers.  We give you honest advice about the advantages and disadvantages of various commercial servers and the pluses and minuses of hosting your site yourself.

Announcing Your Web Site

Commercial web servers vary greatly in their capabilities and prices.  Our web server is connected to the internet via a high-speed T3 line, with a T1 for redundancy and backup. We also can offer secure servers and shopping cart programs. Prices vary depending on your requirements, but you only pay for what you need.  Your decision here is not permanent; as needs change, web sites easily move from one host to another

Announcing Your Web Site

A web site is not much use to you if nobody knows it exists.  Part of our job is to anounce your site to the rest of the internet.  We will register its existance with the major internet search engines.  In addition, you should plan a publicity campaign to announce your site through your existing materials and marketing media.  Be sure to put your web site address on your business cards.
